  • with GCC Stack Smashing Protection
  • compiled with binutils that supports PT_PAX_FLAGS
  • You'll find top tools like

    • Amap
    • Ettercap
    • Hydra
    • Kismet
    • Nessus
    • Nmap
    • Metasploit
    • PADS

    ... and many others

    NetSecL History

At first the NetSecL Project started under the name ISlack and was developed by the time when Yuriy Stanchev (NetSecL Project Leader) was in Germany - the distribution was spread among friends and after a year of usage and testing it was uploaded on http://ftp.iasi.roedu.net on 03-May-2005 18:52. From that point it evolved and became what it is today.
